Being Boss

wow! Though Smart Kids has been running since last year…. I haven’t felt the pressure and the stress until now! Having the actual office/store means real working hours. No more slacking off and sleeping in. Just plain old working hours that you have to stick by cause you set them!

From 11am-8pm. I wake up and i open, then i head off to my classes.. teaching then I return and get everything ready for the next day. I greet and meet new clients who walk by and figure out my marketing plans… I look at my accounts receivable and wish i could burn my accounts payable! Its so STRESSFUL!!!!

Its so tough… I’m so bitchy its not funny. I don’t even remember how to have fun. Its constant work work work.. and cuz its my own company I can’t really take days off…. well i can.. but still its not really encouraged. I mean here and there I can close a little early and get in a little late. But then its still work that needs to be done the next day!

TIRING!

Renting a store space…

so i received a call about the store that we wanted to rent earlier this week.. and guess what? It was taken! And we didn’t even put down a deposit or nothing yet and it was gone! So then we quickly went out there and picked out another one. This one was $300 dollars more, but then it was the only one left close to the elevator! So we had to take it! We wanted exposure to the kids that would jump off the elevator! Also if you had to walk all the way from the escalator you would still spot us!

Its really exciting!!! Just planning on what color to paint the walls and what to put in there is getting me so excited! I have to get my business cards printed, and I have to figure out how the sign is going to look on top of the store! Its so FUN! I’m pretty excited! I even have to start thinking of flyers and brochures and stuff!

ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! i’m so happy! I guess i’ll update everyone and put up pictures as we go!

the new face of smart kids

recently i had asked a dear friend to create a new face of smart kid for us. and the final product of the logo has finally emerged! I am so excited! with new colors and a spunky feel, its modern and different from other music and arts studios! Well cuz ours is a workshop of course! Can’t unveil it until everything is set! I can’t wait!!!
